Foxtail Somersault

If one were to put the edgy textures of Slowdive, the light airy sound of the Cocteau Twins, with the wall of sound guitars of My Bloody Valentine in a blender with the raucous dissonance of Sonic Youth, Foxtail Somersault would be the result. Comprised of reverb addict Mariel Haag, former Razor Drain guitarist and Foxtail Somersault founder Seiken Nakama, Morningspy guitarist James Spadaro, Brian Anderson formerly of the acid jazz/funk band outfit The Pickup Sticks, and East coast drummer Mark Dungey, Foxtail Somersault plays melodies that are both haunting and indelible. Backed by rhythms that can have the heaviest of grooves that would rival the gloomiest of goth bands or the most danceable beat of a pop band, their sound can best be described as multifaceted without being contrived.
